Terms & Conditions

1. FEES

1.1 All bookings must be reserved by us receiving a completed booking form, email or phone.

1.2 Full Payment is expected at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the course. Reservations can be made by paying a 50% deposit.

 

2 CANCELLATION BY CLIENT

2.1 All cancellations must be via email or phone.

2.2 Cancellations 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the course will receive a refund.

2.3 If a cancellation is made within 8 weeks, Gibbon Adventures will attempt to re-sell your place on the course. In the event that the course is resold prior to the commencement of the course, the client will receive a full refund less 10% of the course fee to cover administration costs. The Client may also re-sell their place on the course, or find gift their place to a friend, provided the new participant fills out a participation form.

2.4 In the event that the course is not resold prior to the commencement of the course, the client will be charged 50% of the course fee.

 

3 AMENDMENTS by client

3.1 Substitution of the original customer for another can be made provided notice is given by the substituted customer to the company and the substituting customer satisfies the requirement of the course. All substitutions must be made with the consent of the company with both the substituted and substituting customer being jointly and severally liable for the total course fee.

3.2 A customer may apply to change course dates as long as the original booking is more than 8 weeks from the date of the request. Where possible we will try to accomodate a change of date request to a mutally agreed date. A date change request within 8 weeks before the original course date may not be possible, however you may still ask. 

 

4 CANCELLATION BY Gibbon Adventures.

4.1 Whilst every attempt is made to ensure that advertised courses actually run, Gibbon Adventures will notify the client of cancellation as soon as practicable where it believes on reasonable grounds that cancellation is necessary due to dangerous and/or unsuitable conditions for the course activity or incapactiy of course staff. 

4.2 In the unlikely event of cancellation by Gibbon Adventures, clients will be offered the choice between a full refund, or an alternative date.

4.3 In the rare event of cancellation by Gibbon Adventures due to dangerous or adverse weather conditions, incapacity, or illness, clients will be offered a 100% refund or the option of a suitable alternative activity, such as gorge scrambling or coasteering.

 

5. HEALTH, FITNESS, WEATHER, AND EQUIPMENT

5.1 Clients should be aware that courses will involve walking over rough, sometimes steep terrain, for a number of miles in varying weather conditions.

5.2 Each client should satisfy themselves that they are in suitable health, and bring suitable clothing for the weather conditions. 

5.3 Outdoor activities such as those provided by gibbon adventures carry an inherent level of risk. Whilst reasonable measures will be taken to mitigate the inherent risks to an acceptable level, it is not possible to eliminate them completely. Your instructors will endeavor to make you aware of the risks, and that participation in the activities is your own choice. When booking a course it is expected that you have read this statement, and are therefore accepting of the risks involved.

“The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement”

6 - Gift Certificates 

6.1 Gift Certificates must be redeemed within two years of the original purchace. 

6.2 The gift cirtificate is valid only for the 'named individual' who the gift was purchased for. They may bring one extra person free of charge; any more participants will require an extra charge. 

6.3 Gift Certificate holders must get in touch to arrange a mutually agreeable date. If a mutually agreeable date is not availiable then the purchacer will recieve a refund. The agreed date, becomes the named individuals orginal booking.

6.4 All other stated terms and conditions also apply. 

Covid19 - Policy

Covid Booking terms and conditions

1 - Symptoms: All course participants & staff will monitor for Covid19 symptoms prior to attending the course. 

1.1 - Any guest with Covid symptoms must not attend unless they have a negative PCR test. Guests with a positive PCR test may reschedule free of charge to an alternative, mutually agreed date within two years of course cancellation.  

1.2 - Guests who arrive with active Covid symptoms without a negative PCR test result, will not be allowed to participate in their course, and it will be too late to receive a refund or reschedule. 

2 - Course Cancellation Should your instructor test positive for Covid, then, where possible, a suitable replacement instructor will be hired, and were not possible, due to lack of availability, then the course will need to be canceled and all guests will receive a full refund or an alternative date depending on which they prefer. 

2.1- Should the course need to be canceled due to Government restrictions, then guests will be invited to reschedule their course to an alternative date, free of extra charge. 

3 - Covid Mitigation recommendations​ - Guests should understand & accept that it is not possible to completely mitigate for the risk of Covid transmission during our courses.
