Here are our recommendations for where to stay, places to Eat, good Outdoor shops, and Local indoor climbing walls in Snowdonia.
🌏Which area to stay in
Essentially you can stay anywhere in North Wales, as driving times are rarely too big, however, we recommend staying somewhere central (within a 10-mile radius of Brynrefail), as we never know where the weather might take us each day. Other general areas that are close include: Llanberis, Capel Curig & Bethesda.
🌏 Finding accommodation
There's a wide range of available places to stay. The course cost does not include accommodation. We recommend you to find accommodation to suit your own tastes, as there are many affordable options. The course location can be flexible to suit your location, however, if you would like to reduce driving times then we recommend finding somewhere closer to the meeting location (Brynrefail).
You'll find a wide range of options online (Airbnb, Booking.com are good places to start).
We recomend www.crafnanthouse.com
There are plenty of close-by campsites:
🌏 Eating out: A few nice spots
Dylans restaurant: Fine dining by the waterfront (Menai bridge)
Pizza and a pint: Great pizza, great beer, near Llanberis
Fricsans Pizza: Excellent pizza, Friday & Saturday evenings next to Snowdon inn campsite
🌏 Outdoor Shops
Should you need to buy any Outdoor Equipment, here are a few good shops to try:
V12 outdoors - Llanberis - Our Number 1 for Climbing equipment and clothing
Joe Browns - Llanberis and Capel Curig - Also great options
🌏 Indoor Climbing gyms
There are a couple of good indoor climbing facilities in Snowdonia:
The Beacon Climbing centre - Better for leading
The Indy - Better for bouldering
