Local recomendations
Here are our recommendations for where to stay, places to Eat, good Outdoor shops, and Local indoor climbing walls in Snowdonia.
🌏Which area to stay in
Essentially you can stay anywhere in North Wales, as driving times are rarely too big, however, we recommend staying somewhere central (within a 10-mile radius of Brynrefail), as we never know where the weather might take us each day. Other general areas that are close include: Llanberis, Capel Curig & Bethesda.
🌏 Finding accommodation
There's a wide range of available places to stay. The course cost does not include accommodation. We recommend you to find accommodation to suit your own tastes, as there are many affordable options. The course location can be flexible to suit your location, however, if you would like to reduce driving times then we recommend finding somewhere closer to the meeting location (Brynrefail).
You'll find a wide range of options online (Airbnb, Booking.com are good places to start).
We recomend www.crafnanthouse.com
🌏Camping
There are plenty of close-by campsites:
Bryrefail (Close to the meeting point, good location, good signal, great pizza on Fri/Sat)
Llanberis (Close to town with eating options)
Nant Peris (Cheap, basic, close, poor signal, next to a pub)
The ogwen valley/Tryfan (Great for Ogwen valley, poor signal, basic facilities, pretty, windy)
Nant Gwynant (Expensive, poor signal, very nice facilities & location, far location)
🌏 Eating out: A few nice spots
Dylans restaurant: Fine dining by the waterfront (Menai bridge)
Pizza and a pint: Great pizza, great beer, near Llanberis
Fricsans Pizza: Excellent pizza, Friday & Saturday evenings next to Snowdon inn campsite
La Marina: Tapas style, by the marina in Y Felinheli
Y Gwynedd Bar and Dinner: Pub Grub in Llanberis
